TENDERS will close on Tuesday for the restoration of the Carrington pumphouse.

The NSW Department of Commerce is advertising the project, which has an estimated value of $250,000 to $500,000.

The work includes removing asbestos cement roofing, demolishing structures, roof repairs and laying turf.

Built in 1877, the pumphouse provided hydraulic pressure for wharf cranes.
